Multi Tower Robot Company began as a trusted RoBi-X development partnership between University Hospital Køge in Region Zealand and Blue Ocean Robotics. The motive for initiating the development was the introduction of the Danish Government 8 national targets for a more quality conscious national health service.
Through Blue Ocean Robotics’ RoBi-X partnership program the Multi-Tower Robot was designed, developed and commercialized. We found that there was a smarter alternative to ceiling rails that would also increase work environment, patient safety and be an essential factor in reducing average admission time.
We have partnered up with three Danish hospitals in order to test the first prototype in 2018. First, the robot’s basic functions are going to be tested at the University Hospital in Køge. Next, clinical tests are being planned at the University Hospital in Odense. Last but not least, tests with the focus on the combination of lifting and moving with rehabilitation of neurological patients are going to be performed at The Regional Hospital in Horsens.
This work is funded by the European Regional Fund and the South Danish Growth Forum (Syddansk OPI-pulje) under the project name “PLUMA”.
